The Arizona Army National Guard is a component of the United States Army and the United States National Guard. National coordination of various state National Guard units are maintained through the National Guard Bureau.
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia worn by Arizona Army National Guard (ARNG) members serving in the state’s National Guard Joint Force Headquarters (HQ) was approved on 1 October 2003. Prior to that date, it had been designated for the HQ, State Area Command, Arizona Army National Guard since 5 August 1988, replacing another design that organization had worn since December 1983.
