To hand sew a patch you will need a needle and thread. First, place the patch on the jacket where you want it to go and attach with pins to keep the patch stable. Next, do a basic running stitch around the edge of the patch. Here is a tutorial for a running stitch. If your Jacket and patch are thick you may need to pull the needle all the way through the back of the jacket and then pull it back through the front instead of the fluid motion used in the video (it will still be the same stitch). I recommend using a thimble – I forgot to and got quite the blister on my thumb (no fun!!).
